Why not read Mencap’s insightful research on disability and employment!

Mencap observes that disabled people have very low rates of employment with only 6% of adults with a learning difficulty, who are known to their local authorities, in paid employment.

To rectify this, Mencap states that we need quality support, focussed on building confidence and developing skills, for disabled people to help them get and maintain employment.

Simultaneously we need to work closely with employers and change their attitude to employing disabled people. Many employers wrongly think that people with a learning disability cannot realistically be employed but with the right support they can be highly productive and great employees.

Go on, give it a read!
